Before heading home for the holidays, we made a stop in Memphis to spend a few days. It was c-h-i-l-l-y, especially after the 80 degrees we were spoiled with in New Orleans. For a dinner date including ceviche and a champagne margarita (yes, it is just as good as it sounds).
I revisited a college favorite outfit formula that manages to turn a shirt dress into a winter-ready closet staple. Does anyone else get antsy over wearing jeans and pants every single day in the winter?! It happens to me like clockwork about 30 days after the first real cold I experience every year.
My solution is over-the-knee boots with a dress that the length allows for just a mere sliver of skin exposure. I have been wearing these boots dang near daily and am buying them in the “graphite” color soon. Because when you wear them as often as I do, another color isn’t the worst idea.
I layered the dress with a leopard boyfriend cardigan, that I belted to make sure I don’t loose all my shape behind winter layers. A long camel scarf adds another cozy element that also fights the cold.
