With our wedding being 75 days away and multiple friend’s weddings rapidly approaching, our need for tuxes and suits for Zach is dire. Zach is very particular and stylish about what he wears and for that reason, he doesn’t like wearing the same suit to different events. Much like I don’t like wearing the same dress to different soirees.
We live in Downtown Seattle with 850 square feet, so a Carrie Bradshaw closet isn’t my reality, so we have to be selective about what we buy. Admittedly, Zach gets the shaft in the closet situation. So renting a tux for a one-time event just makes sense for us. But, we’ve all heard those tux rental horror stories about the fit being crazy off for someones wedding day, awful quality or zero variety in styles. We tried out Menguin Tux rental to get the skinny on what everyone was talking about.
Since I’m not the one wearing the suit, I asked Zach exactly what he thought. He loved the fact that it is literally a tux in a box with everything included. From the woman’s perspective, it looked great, had plenty of stylish choices and taking measurements (typically the most questionable part considering I’m not a tailor) was fool proof. Each measurement shows a typical range given your mans weight and height. So if you take a measurement that’s way off, they will catch your mistakes before it’s a problem.
We were both wondering how the fit would be given my non-professional measurements and it fit like a gem straight out of the box. The average rental price hovers right around $100 – which after doing some comparison shopping I found – is a great deal.
