Waterside Picnic in Olympia
Summer is officially here and for me, that means picnic dates with Zach. We have loved spending time this way ever since we got engaged and were got a picnic basket as a gift. Especially in the Pacific Northwest, spending some hours sipping rosé by the water can be the best way to spend a summer night.
Zach and I have this habit of matching each other – especially on dates! Maybe it’s because I’m many times inspired by menswear pieces and color combinations (or that Zach is copying me, you decide). But this white, blue and brown combination is so classic and never goes out of style.
When we are browsing the grocery store for a picnic, we always make sure to grab the following:
– A baguette
– Jam (I love Marionberry!)
– Prosciutto and cheese (for Zach)
I absolutely love this shirtdress. It is SO classy and classic (for that matter). I snapped it on Snapchat (@chicstreetstyle) and said it make me feel like Allie from The Notebook. Sizing note, I got the short inseam (even though I’m 5’8) to modernize it a bit.
This fedora is what hat dreams are made of! I’ve been searching for the perfect summery hat for years and this one is it (and only $25!). It sits well on and isn’t too big. I adore these sandals as well (they are super comfortable) and the jewel detail makes them a little bit more glam. They are under $50 and also come in black).
Zach seriously loves Marks & Spencer shorts. They are super affordable (like, $25!) and he now has four different pairs. According to him, the fit is the best there is for the price. Plus, the short sleeve button ups are a great clean cut alternative to a T-shirt. I love how crisp and tailored the pieces look on him. It’s really a win-win.
