Sporting Stripes + WIWW

IMG_0011Maybe it’s the warmer weather, maybe my style is slowly transforming, but I will have to admit it – girly girl me is loving a sportier look. I love the back and white color combinations (obviously), the use of leather and stripes. I have yet to succumb to New Balances, but a an overall vibe, I can do.

I have started a new challenge for myself and that is to use less heat on my hair. All the highlights, blow drying, straightening and curling can really take it’s toll. So until I start my job in June, I’m going to actively try to use mostly no-heat hair styles. This is really difficult for waves-obsessed me and that my hair is a difficult demon pre-style. Inconsistent wave sand kinks and frizz seem to take over. So you will be seeing plenty of slicked back buns and pony tails and braids in the upcoming months.WIWW21

  1. I love your link ups, they are a great way to make new friends. Also, is there an application process to get featured as a blogger on the weekly link ups?

    Best,

      Hi Elena,

Thank you! I’m glad you think so. And no, joining is super easy! At the bottotm of all the widget (which are the boxes with peoples blog images, there is a little blue box that says “add your link.” Then it brings you to the form where you fill out some information. You can find this on any of my Wednesday posts.

Love the sweater. And I love that you’re willing to take on the challenge of not using heat on your hair. I wish I could do that, but my hair is so heavy and layered that buns and ponytails don’t work for me. Sigh. But I have quit washing it every night! Now I wash it every three days! Shout out to dry shampoo!

Aw thank you, Kylan! My hair is super heavy too (I have to use 3-4 hair binders and countless bobby pins to keep it up). But yes – not washing your hair is the best thing for it!

Love your linkup and enjoy your posts on instagram, I am moving to the big WA, too! We are headed to Microsoft-land this summer (Redmond, just outside of Seattle)… not sure about the constant rain thing as I am in LA now. 😉 Anyways, love the bag and the color nail polish looks fantastic! I have never been a fan of white polish but will have to change my ways because it looks so cool! But white, in general, will be such a hit this spring. Great post.
    Thanks for the Link up!

      Hi Riva,

Aw, thank you so much. It’ not a constant rain, no worries, but rather in the winter and shoulder seasons more of a “sputter,” I can say this from experience. Oh and white nail polish was something I was hesitant to at first as well… but now I’m addicted. It adds a fresh feeling accent to any look.
