Prep School

My style has always had preppy tendencies, but this tendency becomes obsession at the fall of every single year. Perhaps it is because of dropping temperatures, which equals more layering. In my book layering equates to collars, crew neck sweaters, scarfs and blazers, all of which lean itself to a polished presence.

Speaking of polished… for those of you who follow me on Instagram, you are well aware of my first true Italian splurge (and I’m not talking about the gelato). I sprung for the epitome of classic, this black leather Coccinelle handbag. I’m in love.

In other news, I am thanking my good graces that the high for Florence has not reached over 85 in a couple days now… bring on fall. I am so ready for boots, scarves and my latest buy… a mind-blowing Zara jacket. Can’t wait to style it on the blog for all of you.

Hi! I have a tiny blog ( where I’m trying to recreate the Fab Finds Under 50 monthly outfit inspiration calendar. I saw this outfit on a friend’s Pinterest board and wondered if I could have your permission to use it for a day on the October calendar. I’m still working out how the calendar will be laid out, but it will link to this posting and have your blog name on it so people would know it’s your look. If you’d rather me not use it, I completely understand! =) Thanks!

    • It’s absolutely fine if you use it, I’m humbled that you want to use it as inspiration, just please mention the original post and include the link. Thanks!

Absolutely! I’ll put the link here whenever it’s published too. I have to give each look a short title for the Google Calendar, and I’m thinking about calling this one button down under a dress (so creative, right? Ha ha). If you have a more creative name that you’d like me to use, I’d be glad to. Otherwise, I’ll use that one. Thanks!

I may have missed it but I don’t see what kind of bag it is. Would love to know more about the bag you’re carrying in these. Gorgeous by the way.

  8. Amazing and very classy combination, I love your outfit and jewellery so much. I wish you shared with us where you bought all those items (not similar ones only – because they look slightly different)

    • Thank you so much. I do always share the original place I get items, most of them have since been sold out so I provide links to similar items.
