With warmer days not too far ahead, I’m defaulting back to my summertime style of blouses and statement shorts. I love this mixture because it’s as classy as it is easy and it’s a foolproof dressing formula for those days you get “style block.”
The key to executing this comes down to two things: the tuck and the accessories. For these type of dolphin shorts – and many other shorts for that matter – the front tuck is what looks best. It is laid back, highlights your waist (and therefore makes the look more flattering) and makes it feel stylized, like your favorite J.Crew catalog.
As for the accessories, this is what brings the outfit to life and gives it personality. For me, gold is my favorite metal, especially against bronzed summer skin. So it’s a no-brainer to layer dainty gold necklaces to lend the look to a slightly boho feel. My favorite is this JLynn circle pendant, with my birthstone (and what’s becoming a huge part of my wedding), pearls.
