Hi, I’m Brenna. I’m the 20-something blogger behind Chic Street Style, but I might not be what you’d expect out of a fashion blogger. You won’t find me at fashion week, in a big walk-in closet or at blogger gatherings. My husband and I traded my dream job in the buying office at Nordstrom and a chic downtown Seattle apartment for wanderlust and chasing our dreams (and creating my ring company, Everly Rings). You can read more about that decision here. We now travel full-time in a renovated RV and have been doing so for a year and a half! However, we are putting down roots soon — we recently purchased land in Charleston, SC.
Instead of wearing an item one time and amassing a huge closet of things that will never be worn again, I pride myself on curating a capsule closet and helping others do the same by paring down their wardrobes and upping the chic factor. See my viral Ultimate Capsule Closet Guide and make sure to save and pin my printable capsule closet checklist!
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, while in college and lived out of a single suitcase for 4 months, never repeating a single outfit. You can find my packing guide and outfit log here.
I did the same thing when I lived in Seattle for a summer, working as a buying intern for Nordstrom. You can see that outfit log and packing guide here.
You will never see me check a bag. Call it cheap, call it a personal style challenge, but we do a lot of traveling both domestically and internationally and I’d rather pack light (and not sacrifice my style). Some recent trips include Cartagena (Colombia), St. Thomas, Athens and Belize. Our next upcoming trip is Iceland in May!
A little about me: I am originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I keep a mostly vegan diet (but allow leniency for fish, which really helps me be able to eat while I travel). And on that note, I’m a huge animal lover. Anyone who knows me knows that my Mini Australian Shepherds Nova and Jett are my world. I’m happily married and my husband Zach and I have literally been inseparable since our first date (we got engaged after 2 months!) I started my ring company, Everly, after wanting a simulated diamond asscher cut wedding band for myself, but it didn’t exist. My wedding band is the first ring we ever made. Now we employ five people in our offices in Ames, IA. All rings are $99 or less and are simulated diamonds set in sterling silver.
Long story short, my life is crazy sometimes (okay, most of the time) but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for reading and welcome to Chic Street Style!
