How To Re-Wear Your NYE Dress For Valentine’s Day

Got a date tonight? Are you a procrastinator? You are not alone. I always put off planning what I am going to wear for special events or holidays until day of – or rather hours before. But that’s ok because years of having to make do with what’s in my closet has taught me how to mix and match my closet and re-wear dresses and pieces that would otherwise go unworn again.

For example, we all have that sparkly little mini from a New Years Eve party. Odds are you just got one a few months ago. So for a Valentine’s dinner date with my husband, I styled the glitzy frock into city girl chic for sushi and sangria by the ocean.

The key to making this look is a boyfriend blazer. The longer and more relaxed the fit, the cooler the outcome. Ideally, the hem of your blazer would surpass the length of your dress, but you can always make do! The deconstructed and almost menswear inspired item not only dresses the dress down, it makes it a very cool and effortless look. Just pair with some lipstick and some rocking heels and you are good to go!

  1. ThAt was such a Good idea and a way to reuse. I actually wore my valentines day dress from last year but styled it differently as well. It is a great thing to wear again especially like you said waiting untill the last minute.
