With wedding season in full swing, the bridesmaid dresses are in abundance as well (some better than others). Everything from bridezilla’s demanding taffeta *cringe* to relaxed fiancee’s simply requesting a coordinated color palate and everything in between.
Luckily for me, I am fortunate enough to fall under the guide of my brother’s fiance, Lynn, who is simply asking we all wear blush with a style that we are both comfortable and reflects our own style (thank the style gods!)
Whenever I’m looking for an equally affordable, individual and on-trend dress, I head straight to ASOS’ special occasion page. They have everything from party-ready jumpsuits, chic chiffon maxis and the most gorgeously draped jersey dresses, perfect for a summer wedding (bridal party or otherwise).
I wanted a dress that was short because both her and my brother are fairly casual people. I didn’t want anything too risque or attention-drawing (after all, they’ve been together for almost a decade, the girl earned this moment). This draping and cold shoulder detail had the perfect amount of pretty Romeo and Juliette-like romance that was just calling my name.
But what about after the I do’s? I don’t want to end up like Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses. Because, let’s be honest, that’s a brutal waste of closet space. So I’ve already found a way to make it perfect for a picnic in the park by simply tying a chambray shirt and topping the look with a sparkly stunner.
