How to Look Pretty in Practical Boots
This post is sponsored by Zappos.
I have never been a practical person, it’s simply not in my nature. But spending these last few months in Iowa, with the never-ending renovation of the Glam-V has made me revaluate things a bit.
But I don’t think that being dressed comfortably has to mean giving up style. After a long bit of searching, I finally found these Kamik booties that are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn and ordered them when I was in Colombia on the last day of my trip, when I faced the reality of a chilly forecast. I ordered them from Zappos, so they were waiting on the doorstep by the time I got home – it’s crazy how fast their shipping is! When they got there, my in-laws knew exactly how great Kamik boots were. True story, my Father-in-law said he was jealous of my “insulated boots.”
So today, I’m going to share four tips for how to style winter-ready boots.
1. Don’t try to overdress yourself. When wearing a practical boot like these Kamik booties, don’t try to be overly dressy. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish. Play with knits, cardigans and jackets and different textures and colors.
2. Pair with cozy layers. Sweater weather is here so try pairing your boots with a knit and a scarf like I did here.
3. Feel free to accessorize. Opt for fuss-free jewelry like a sleek watch, a belt and a statement scarf to elevate the boots for every day.
4. Skinny jeans are a good idea. Because these boots hit slightly above the calf, go for a legging or skinny jean to avoid unnecessary volume by your feet.
