Flirty Fringe + Under $40 Outfit

Now that the weather is warming up a bit, I’m finally able to bear some leg and rock some fun outfits. Summer calls for sangria with the girls, date night with my man and plenty of opportunities to wear a flirty look. Today’s outfit is exactly that.

I have talked about my go-to outfit formula of “sandwiching.” Which means wearing the same color on top as your shoes and wearing a different solid color on the bottom. It instantly makes you feel pulled-together and in this combination of nude (in a $23 top) and plum ($19 skirt) – holy swoon.I’m also just getting in the habit of dressing up again after adopting Sterling. For those of you who haven’t been in the loop on social media, Sterling is a 5 week old, fully-domesticated marble fox. He even has his own Instagram @SterlingTheFurBaby. We are so in love with the little guy, but it is like having a baby.

He literally has to be watched or crated at all times (I don’t like keeping him in his crate, so watching him all the time is the other option). Training and working with him constantly is another huge part of it. He isn’t a dog or a cat, so we are working really hard to train him and it has been paying off!

If you can’t get enough of Sterling, I also snap videos and pictures of him a lot! Follow on @chicstreetstyle on Snapchat. Also, I have a whole blog post about him and what it’s like owning a fox coming up this week! Comment with any questions and I’ll be sure to answer them in the post.

  3. Your outfit definitely has me swooning. But more than that, I am ridiculously envious that you adopted my favorite animal ever! OMG! I didn’t even know that you could do that! And his name. How adorable is that?! I will definitely be checking out Sterling’s page and I look forward to the blog post about adopting a fox. So fantastic!

Thank you, Maddy! And yes, a lot of people just think he’s a husky puppy or something.
