Kiss Me

Happy Monday everyone! I’m starting off the week with a dynamic outerwear pairing that combines metal, pattern, graphic and color.

I think that people often underestimate the power of fabulous outerwear. Especially in colder climates (such as the frozen tundra I live in), your coat is the item you typically see. So I dare you, make a statement and accessorize like there is no tomorrow.

Ruby and cobalt is a striking duo to start off with, but a playful “kiss me” beanie ties it all together. The oversized plaid scarf ties in the black while adding (read: much needed) warmth while a statement belt contributes a dose of flattering chic.

I never thought I’d be one to willingly wear a beanie, especially with my feminine tendencies in the way I dress. It always came off far too tomboy for my liking. But the recent emergence of this practical trend had be willing to give the sporty style another go. It adds a comfortable and relaxed finishing touch that might be exactly what your outfit needs.

  1. Besides loving your blog and style (read it every day!), I love seeing where you’re taking photos. I’m an Iowa State alum from 2010. Similar to you, only I am originally an Iowan and now live in the Twin Cities. :)
